New Laws take effect July 1!!

SPEAK YOUR MIND

Good afternoon!

Effective July 1, 2014, new regulations change the employee criteria when predesignating a personal physician or medical group for work-related injuries or illnesses (includes two new forms). Employers are required to provide this Workers’ Compensation pamphlet to new hires. It is attached here in English and Spanish!
Also effective July 1, 2014, paid family leave to care for a seriously ill “family member” now includes a grandparent, grandchild, sibling or parent-in-law. Employers are required to provide this updated Paid Family Leave pamphlet to new hires and when employees take a leave of absence for a covered reason. Once the California Employment Development Department updates it, I will forward it to you. If you have new hires before then, the CalChamber updated its version for sale.

Who says lawyers are stingy with their expertise??? You will also want to update those handbooks as well!
